Introducing Thermographer Barbara Thurman, A.P., C.C.T., and  the co-owner and founder of The Acupuncture & Natural Healing Center in Stuart, Florida. As the first Nationally Certified Acupuncture Physicians in the Stuart - Port St. Lucie area, she and her partner, Ronald Mullen, A.P., opened their private practice here in 1996.

Barbara has taught graduate courses to Acupuncture Physicians for many years, and has served as guest lecturer at Indian River Community College, Keiser Career Institute, the Blake Library, the Women's Health Center/Martin Memorial Hospital, and many public forums. She is a Certified Clinical Thermographer and has opened the area's first, and only, Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging Lab for the early screening of breast disease. The American College of Clinical Thermography recently honored her for her outstanding dedication to the advancement of women's health.

Barbara's undergraduate degrees were earned at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, and she received her graduate degree as an Acupuncture Physician from Florida's oldest school of Oriental Medicine, the Southeastern Institute of Oriental Medicine in Miami, Florida. She has a specialty in Acupuncture Injection Therapy.

The Florida State Oriental Medical Association honored Barbara as Florida's Acupuncture Physician of the Year in 2003.  She was appointed to the Florida Board of Acupuncture by Governor Charlie Crist in 2008 and served eight years as Vice-Chair, Continuing Education Liaison, and Board Member.
